BAC Differences

The BAC Difference

Credible, Objective,

Evaluation-based Advising

How is Barrett Athletic Consulting different from Recruiting Services?

  • BAC has helped over 400 families in the college search and recruitment process in 18 sports, Olympic and non-Olympic (over 180 DI athletes).
  • BAC customizes the college search around the student-athlete’s values and priorities as they relate to educational preferences, financial need and athletic performance
  • BAC is a full-time, committed program – non-commission – non-franchised
  • BAC uses a "Personal and Intimate Approach" vs. a mass or generic effort by recruiting and promotional services
  • BAC is "Evaluation and Mentor-based" vs. exposure and promotion-based
  • BAC hires "sport specific," experienced former college and high school coaches as cross-checkers to corroborate our work in order to give added credibility to the evaluation process
  • BAC is publicly endorsed by families, high school students, high school coaches, athletic directors, and administrators throughout the state of Ohio
  • BAC is a program that models the way the "College Coach" evaluates and recruits. Our effort parallels the actual "Recruiting Process"
  • BAC advises on and coordinates the financial aid process, admissions process, and on eligibility issues
  • BAC staff will accompany students on unofficial and official visits, if requested
  • BAC assists in career planning and professional development
  • BAC addresses performance enhancement of the student-athlete with an array of professionals and sport specialists
  • BAC’s communication with college coaches is intimate and personal, using personalized mail and e-mail vs. generic mass mailings
  • BAC staff members plan personal, customized and intimate planning sessions vs. large impersonal meetings
  • BAC carefully selects athletes based on character, athletic and academic performance, and dedication to their sport and the recruiting process/college search
